Jesus is Always in Our Boat

Many of God’s children come to salvation in Christ Jesus and their expectation is – at last I will have smooth sailing in my life. Yet they soon learn that salvation is only the beginning of a long voyage – God must teach us how to sail our boat in a calm sea. In our next training session, the Lord will allow us to enter choppy waters and once again the Holy Spirit will teach us how to navigate our boat. But the day will come when the choppy waters become large waves and some of the water will splash over our boat. We will struggle to get our footing, but when we do, we will discover we can ride out the storms of life in safety.

Each time we leave the port, God will teach us the next lesson that He intends for us to learn. With each new lesson comes greater pressure from the sea. In time it will not matter what the weather is, for in calm waters or in the worst of storms, God is with us. He will bring us again and again into His port of safety and then we will recognize that from the beginning God has always been in our boat.

Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord our God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
