We must be trained not to look to men for their approval, for God in His wisdom will withhold men’s praises from us even when we have done a good job. He knows the praises of the world will destroy His design for His children. If we begin to think of ourselves as something when we are nothing, we will become puffed up, proud and not fit for the kingdom of God and we will eventually rob God of His glory.
Therefore, God in His mercy will withhold the accolades of men so that progressively we can learn our own nothingness. If any good thing does come from our lives, we will know it first came from the heavenly Father to whom all praise, glory and honor is due.
Galatians 6:3
For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
