The Planting of the Lord

God calls us to a walk of faith and as we grow in Him we will be like trees planted by the water. As the seasons of life come and go we will grow from being saplings into mature trees. Winter brings many trials where we will have to press through months of icy cold and the dormancy of the season and all we can see is darkness. But in the pattern of the seasons, the sap once again will begin to flow, producing all things new. When this new growth begins to appear we will come to an understanding of how important the winter months have been.

The warmth of summer will cause the spring fruit to mature. All too soon, the fruit is picked and once again, we go through a season of closing down. It is a beautiful time of rest but following close behind that rest we will once again move into the winter months. As we finish the year of growth, we will stand much taller than we did a year ago. The branches have grown stronger and the fruit more plentiful for we are a planting of the Lord.

Psalms 1:3
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And wherever he does shall prosper.
