The Snare is Broken

Unforgiveness keeps us grounded. Think of a bird with a broken wing that is unable to fly but when that the wing is properly set and allowed to heal that bird will once again take to the sky. The healing won’t be immediate and little by little the strength in the wing will return. The bird will begin to take small flights but when the wing is completely mended, once again it will soar with the other birds. If the bird refuses to have the wing set it will be permanently grounded never to have fellowship with his kind again and become vulnerable to the every danger from its enemies.

Many of us have broken wings and are in great danger of resentment, bitterness, hatred and revenge. When these things take hold of our hearts it will produce death to our inward man for we were created to soar in the heavenlies, to have fellowship with God and with the saints. If we refuse to forgive others the blood cannot cleanse us from our bitterness, and we will be like the bird with the broken wing – we will be grounded from all God has planned for us.

Psalms 124:7
Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our Help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
