Where is Our Citizenship?

God’s design for each of us is to live in  the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, far above principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness. And although the heavenly kingdom is our rightful home, we must remember we live in a foreign country called the world. Instead of living above darkness – darkness has an advantage over us because we partake of a worldly kingdom rather than a heavenly kingdom. Our citizenship is not in the world, but often we spend the majority of our time traveling in a foreign country that has no eternal value.

The world can never develop the correct climate for us to grow spiritually, but as we walk in the Spirit, walk in the light, walk in Love and abide in Christ we can live in our true place of citizenship and become fruitful in the heavenly kingdom. When we first draw away from the world, we will for a season feel the draw to return to that, which is familiar, but if we hold tightly to the Lord, the draw of the world will dissipate.  It will not take long until we can see that we are not only becoming rich in the Word but we are living in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
