Getting Our Own Way

When God closes a door that we had hoped to walk through we become disappointed and we move into our manipulative mode to figure out how we can still get through the door without violating God. When God has closed a door it will brings us to a time of decision. We can push down the door and go our own way or we can choose to repent from thinking we could manipulate God.

When giving up a dream or a great desire it leaves us raw and bleeding. Instead of yielding all our own plans, hopes and dreams to the Lord and thanking Him for saying no, we go into overtime. We try to figure out in our own strength, how we can bring our dream to pass. The moment we decide to go our own way, the enemy of our soul will help us to make a way to accomplish what God has said no to. We are now standing on dangerous ground. This is the time when we choose whom we are going to follow and whom we are to serve. We need to think long and hard as many have fallen from God’s pathway at this juncture of life.

Philippians 2:5-8
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the for of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
