Assignments in Prayer

When God gives us an assignment to pray for another, our prayers will only carry weight with the Father when we do not pray from our own conclusions. Too often our interpretation is incorrect as to what that person needs. Too quickly we judge by are natural sight and the minute we do we pray amiss.  When God trusts us with someone’s life in prayer He does not want us to judge or condemn, but to pray according to His wisdom for each situation.

In an assignment we are like a soldier that must come under specific orders of the commanding officer. We are only to do what we are told and no more. When we improvise on God’s program of prayer we will lose power for the person we are praying for, as only God knows the heart of man. We are to pray and watch – for the victory is in Christ and not in us. Our only question should be, “Father, How would you have me to pray?”

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
